Description
On 16th Dec 2012 there was a brutal gang-rape in a moving bus in New Delhi, India. The 23 year old girl was raped and tortured by six drunken men of whom one was a minor. After 13 days of battle for life the girl succumbed to multiple organ injuries. The Country witnessed violent rage and protests by people in Delhi. The culprits are nabbed and waiting for prosecution.
A country where the cultural and religious values teach and preach respect to women and womanhood, all those values have just turned into mere myth in the present times.
I experienced a lot of anguish and strong emotion while creating this work, this is one of my works which will not carry my signature because this is an emotional response to a ghastly incident. In Indian mythology lord Shiva opens his third eye when he wants to bring an end to all the evil. If this artwork can bring safer living conditions for women and a speedy trial for the culprits then that will be the true value of this work.
I dedicate this work from the bottom of my heart to the Indian Women.
